soundjack
Soundnet wanted to create and develop a brand new mobile-first business proposition and mobile product: a digital jukebox for venues and their customers. Nimbletank were asked to dramatise this simple idea, building the brand, crafting the app and fully realising the business opportunity.
Challenge
Soundjack started off as digital juke box for venues but they felt the need to enter the mobile space. After initial meetings with soundjack it was decide we would help them make a mobile product. With a ageing infrastructure and a old business model we had to help them realise what changes they would face.
Process
After client workshops and user interviews with club/bar owners we narrowed down our research and try to understand the current infrastructure. By outlining our constrained we worked tirelessly to build a product. Once this was done we started work on the brand and the site. The biggest challenge with working on a brand this early with a start up was that they didn’t know how they where viewed or how they wanted to be seen.
Impact
After user testing in a number of venues the app was successfully launched in 2014 and is currently used in thousands of UK venues. The business was acquired by their largest US competitor ahead of plan, thanks to the mobile products and services developed by us at Nimbletank. The App has won numerous creative awards including Best User Experience / Usability at The Drum’s MOMA Awards 2015.
