minicabit is a private hire comparison site which has grown to support over 700 private hire providers.
When minicab came to us they had already launched a beta version of their service in the form of a app and website. They lacked the understanding of a product business and tried to drum up users by going on dragons den. Since working with minicabit we have helped them grow their business to support both customers and cab providers. Setup user engagement labs and social media links. The final round of funding was achieved through the new product design and revamp of the app.
We analysed all the different customer journeys and then streamlined the booking process to allow a customer to get a quote almost instantly. In addition we completely overhauled the iOS and Android design and look and feel, giving a much more modern, clean interface to the app and adding playful animations in line with minicabit’s brand values.
ProcessWith minicabit we followed the double diamond process. We also held client workshops to try to better understand how they work and see themselves. This gave us new insight of how they wanted to be seen. One of the areas we felt we could really push the user interface was in the menu or navigation interaction on the iPad given the bigger screen. We ran a ideation workshop to explore navigation UI concepts. Here is a break down of that meeting down:
- · 10 mins Brief breakdown: Q and A about what we are trying to achieve
- · 10 mins Individual research
- · 5 mins Crazy 8's
- · 10 mins Scamps
- · 15 mins Silent critique and voting
- · 10 mins Individual discussion
